Day 1 -NWFM travel day

Here we are! The first day - this involves quite a bit of travel and logistics to get us here. We had several issues with our flight tickets - names wrong, a couple birthdates incorrect, and child tickets listed as adults made it hard to check in online. In the end, all team members flying today made it safely to Eagle’s Cove with NWFM north of Thunder Bay. 4 more fly out Monday so please pray for Rod and his family.

Kevin, Yang, Simon, & Miranda drove and made good time today, stopping a couple times for some food, to stretch, and a bit of scenery. We have landed in Sault Ste Marie for a sleep. We will head off 8am to get to the cove by 4. Pray for safe driving and good weather (it might rain!). This stretch has lots of things to see but not a lot of places to stop! This part of the province I find is gorgeous. Scenery that you just can’t recreate!  You have to see it for yourself.

I have not had much contact with the rest of the team and can only assume all their luggage arrived, all the rental cars were ready, and that everyone is fine.

Tomorrow the team will have church at the camp and then go out for a bit to see the area around Thunder Bay. Since our main cook is with me here, it may be easier for them to go out and get some food while we travel to them. Plus any last items needed can be picked up in the city.

We don’t know how many kids yet, nor our full sleeping arrangements as well. In preparation we have 9 cots at camp, and brought 8 air mattresses and 2 more coats. Plus we have 3 tents. We never know what will happen!

Pray for our setup and team bonding. As a group we need to prepare for the unknown with as much prep as we can. We are excited for what God will do this week - both for our campers and for ourselves.

Check back daily for updates if we are able to connect to the internet!
